Genocide Guatemala

‘Guatemalan Rape as genocide’

Around 100.000 women were raped or otherwise sexually abused during the Genocide in Guatemala. The total impunity for these events, that have NEVER been adjudicated, has led to the continued raping and killing of women today. For the first time in history, thanks to Spanish attorney Almudena Bernabeu and gender crimes expert Patricia Sellers, this case of gender violence will be tried before the Spanish National Court. This case will establish an international precedent and will shine a light at the end of a dark tunnel of horror and impunity that will mean the end of suffering for many women in the world
